During the Victorian Period, many people acted in a civilized manner and knowledge was really expanding and taking its course. In previous years, learning was a big component to the social society and was very important if you wanted to fit in. During this era, everyone was starting to use that knowledge and expand them into new, bigger and better ideas. Since the working class was still bad, many people worked at political reform. The Victorian Era acted as a time of change to previous eras, to reform and fix what was necessary to succeed and become accomplished. In previous eras many people were excited to start fresh, but did not really know how and during the Victorian Era, people started to really take the time to understand what was needed in order to make life prosperous and fair to all. This meant serious discipline, which is why people acted in such a proper manner. Along with the discipline came along people who wanted to act out on that discipline which leads to the different forms of expression during this era, such as literature. Many writers used satire and sarcasm in their writing to apply their opinions of people and ideas and in this era, expression of one’s opinion was valued, as in many other eras before such as the Renaissance or Enlightenment eras. The Victorian Period stood out through many other periods simply because their growth of knowledge really guided other eras to their success.

This synthesis response has valid ideas and a thorough analysis. It is a great summary of the era, and answers the prompt well. However, the writing style of this response could have been improved with more sophisticated language. As of now, it seems too informal and rudimentary with simple diction choices. Additionally, extensions of examples would have made this response more convincing. For instance, the response claims that "many writers used satire and sarcasm," but there are no examples to prove this. Again, the response serves as a great summary, but could be explained in more detail to fully answer the prompt.
