DIRECTIONS: Hi! So you're ready to post your "synthesis question" answer and to respond to others? There is only "ONE RULE" to follow: Once you are the first responder to ONE "synthesis question" answer posting, you may respond to as many other postings as you want, but never again in the position of first responder until you begin researching the next era. Check our humanities interchange website for time frames, due dates, etc. Again, may the blog be with you.

Contemporary Era! Asher.Team.8.Period.1.
The term ‘pop culture’ is a broad, generalizing description that encompasses a multitude of all art forms. According to Merriam Webster, pop culture can used to define a socio-cultural trend in morals, beliefs, opinions, thoughts, and other influences. It also expresses any popular trends that may arise in a given society. People’s moods, thoughts, and opinions are -without a doubt- affected by the films, television, writing and art- relative to the era. Because of this, pop culture is never a constant; it is always evolving. Pop culture affects our lives everyday, whether we notice it or not. It is because of the infamous novel series, Twilight that many teenage girls have developed irrational emotions regarding love, fantasy, and the supernatural. Since the first novel of the series’ release, wolves and vampires have become an immense phenomenon in today’s culture. This craze has inspired television dramas, such as the widely popular The Vampire Diaries as well as True Blood, both containing elements of love, lust, betrayal, and most importantly – blood thirsty vampires. Since these books and television dramas are relevant to our lives today, we are drawn to them; they express the modern opinions and views that we as a society believe in. The contemporary era was apart of a movement which was spurred by the idea that every person should be able to express his or her emotions as he/ she pleases. This allowed the lower-ranked people, according to society, to express themselves, virtually destroying the boundaries of social classism. Sensibility, of any era, allows people to develop their perceptions and emotional responses to any given subject. Pop culture allows people to openly voice their opinions and have a say in modern society. Because of the fluctuating pop culture within different eras, sensibility has helped to open many barriers, regarding a world’s thoughts, feelings, emotions, and reactions.
