Medieval Synthesis Question

It is interesting that the Medieval era has a very large group of lower class peasants, because religion was starting to form and grow. The medieval times were focused a lot on the Christian religion that says to help those people in need. Although the higher class supported this religion, it seemed as though they put these people to work, more than helping them and making them grow. The people that were well off did not stay true to their Christian religion. I like that both the religion but also the lower class was mentioned to show how much they cared for the Christian religion. The people of the time cared enough to create artwork off of a religion that most if not all people followed. Not only did they create artwork, but it was considered to be something that was more important than reality. This shows that although many people followed the religion, not all rules were "followed."
ReplyDeleteArtwork is a very important aspect of many time periods, and the medieval era showed that through paintings. Unlike the previous time periods, the artwork was based off of religion and not nobility. Although religion starting playing such a big role, when looked more into, many people didn't follow the rules to the fullest. The artwork portrayed the religious figures as something better that what is real. The real worldly features were more important than any of the religious figured. The higher class was very little, compared to the lower class, which shows how little the people cared for those in the lower class.
