During the Greek and Roman era people began to take more of an interest in the arts then they ever had before. Now, instead of just illustrating religious beliefs it was also used for entertainment. One of the most enjoyed versions of art was paintings. Paintings were not just on a piece of canvas, like they tend to be on now, they were everywhere. Some of the most common ways to make a painting was to do a mural, with colored plaster, or make a floor mosaic. This way of art fit in with society more then a gallery because the Greek and Roman peoples were very interactive. Another new thing that paintings did was to become more realistic. Painters now made their paintings look like real life. One other important thing they did was include many depictions of the Gods in their works. This shows us that religion had a huge role in society. Most paintings had some sort of tribute to the Gods in it. Even in paintings without the Gods in it the people were portrayed as godly. They were extremely beautiful and dramatic. On the other side of the paintings was the science aspect of it. The realistic drawings of the people in the art showed just how much closer people were coming to discovering what we as humans are. A lot of people went to see these gorgeous pieces of art and this significantly added to the growing sophistication of humanity.
Very interesting take on the synthesis question. What exactly do you mean by saying the Greeks and Romans were "very interactive?" Good response team 2.
