Macbeth essay Per.1 Tiffany T.

In Shakespeare’s play Macbeth the character Macbeth proves to be dynamic in his human representation. He starts off as being human like, he’s seen as a war hero. But, an evil is planted into him when he meets the witches that foretell of Macbeth becoming king. This causes Macbeth to become ambitious and follow that prophecy which would lead him to his ruin. Once Macbeth kills King Duncan, he starts to change dramatically. Towards the end of the play, Macbeth has gone on a rampage killing a lot of innocent people. During this time, Macbeth has transformed and all of the “human” thoughts and feelings he once had, has disappeared. Macbeth changed from being almost an idol to being the person people feared. Macbeth loses himself in his guilt which he turns into anger. This is all because of being informed of what his fate would be.
At the beginning of the play, Macbeth is “human”. He has emotions and friends that he cares about. But as time goes on he starts to become a ruthless killer. This is after he meets the witches and he plots to kill people. When Duncan was murdered in Macbeth’s castle, it created a few suspicions about him. After killing Duncan, Macbeth started to become paranoid and felt the need to kill others, for example Duncan’s son, who was next in line for the throne. Once Macbeth starts to kill, he loses his humanity. After a kill he feels the need to kill another, he becomes numb to the idea of a human being dying by his hands. Later Macbeth is conflicted when he sees the ghost of Banquo. His order of Banquo’s death triggered his hallucinations. After breaking down, Macbeth loses any remorse he had. When Lady Macbeth dies, he doesn’t react at all, almost as if he didn’t care. He then orders more kills on Macduff’s family. Macbeth then starts to pride himself of the witches’ prophecy which says that Macbeth cannot be killed by “a man of woman born”. This belief leads to his ruin for he thinks he is invincible.
Macbeth’s actions were based off of what the witches had told him. Because of the prophecy Macbeth became a cold-blooded killer. He began to fear people and that fear turned into anger and hatred. He fulfilled the prophecy but continued to push the boundaries by killing people, which lead to his demise.
