Romanticism Era Synthesis

The creation of the Romantic Era came to be through the causes and influences of the previous Enlightenment Era. The people in the previous Enlightenment Era began to grow weary and disappointed with the display of Darwinist who have no regard for the common civilized folks. With this in mind, many of the people in the era began to have a different state of mind; wanting change and desiring a cultural change toward more imaginative and emotional depth. The romantic Era began on a train of emotion that was what fueled the movement. These emotions here able to give a new experience for many different people to enjoy. Fear and Terror are a couple of the emotions that where used in this emotional time period, which lead to aesthetic and enticing new experiences. With literary creators of pieces of writing such as Nathaniel Hawthorne and Edgar Allen Poe; both these two writers. When in comparison of the two Era’s, there is a clear distinction between the strict political influence and the fluid like movement of the emotional period of Romanticism giving a large emphasis on the regular class man. Liberty Leading the People, an oil based painting by Eugene Delacroix could be a display of this Era, as well as Jacques-Louis David’s Veiw of the Garden of the Luxembourg Palace. Jacques-Louis’s art especially displays the beauty and aesthetic pleasures of nature that centered the Romanticism Era; with its large lush field and foliage containing colors of yellow, green, brown, and red. These colors gave off a sense of serenity and bliss and the freedom that the ex-Enlightenment Era people needed and desired. These two works of art displayed what is the Romanticism Era

  1. Your synthesis answer demonstrates knowledge of the transition between the Enlightenment and Romantic Eras. However, some parts of your answer are a bit difficult to understand because of the way they are written. For instance- “The people in the... Enlightenment Era began to grow weary... with the display of Darwinist who have no regard for the common civilized folks.” It is somewhat challenging to understand whether you mean to say that those of the Enlightenment Era were social Darwinists (which for the most part they were not) or that they practiced Darwinist principals in regards to science (which they didn’t.) But either way, we somewhat disagree with the point you are making; in the Enlightenment the “common civilized folks” gained ability and, to an extent, respect. Another nitpicky detail we found odd was your sentence fragment “With literary creators of pieces of writing such as Nathaniel Hawthorne and Edgar Allen Poe; both these two writers.” It is unclear what you mean to say here. However, on the bright side, we understand that you mean to use these two as examples of contributors to the Romanticist era, which would be well-fitted examples indeed. The point is, all in all, you demonstrate knowledge in answering this synthesis question, which is good. You also demonstrate that you have done research as to the people and works of literature and art definitive of the Romanticist era. However, your delivery is somewhat difficult to understand, so we suggest that you take care to proofread in the future.
